About Me

Hey there! I'm Reggie — a proud Black and Filipino children's book author and illustrator who loves bringing stories about Black children and families to life, one picture at a time. My illustrations act like a paintbrush, adding splashes of color, warmth, vibrancy, and authenticity to every page. When I'm not in my studio creating, you’ll often find me lost in worlds of fantasy, superheroes, and science fiction, dreaming up new ideas (in case I ever get to illustrate a lightsaber‑wielding alien).

I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with wonderful publishers such as Random House, HarperCollins, and Candlewick Books, and I’m honored to be a New York Times bestselling illustrator for the book Who Are Your People? My work also appears in the chapter book series The Magnificent Makers, Santa in the City, and Tacko Fall: To New Heights. In 2022 I was thrilled that Hey You!, written by Dapo Adeola, won the Children's Illustrated Book award at The British Book Awards, and in 2023 I was grateful to receive the Established Artist award from the California Arts Council.

Most importantly, I share my life with my beautiful wife, Demi, who tolerates my quirks and helps me grow every day. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my work!
